The Congress party has officially released its second list of candidates for the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections scheduled for November 20. This list, consisting of 23 candidates, comes just two days after the party unveiled its first list, which included 48 candidates.

Among the prominent candidates is Suresh Y. Bhoyar, who will contest against state Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Chandrashekhar Bawankule in the Kamthi seat of Nagpur district. Bawankule is recontesting this seat, which he previously won in 2004, 2009, and 2014, before being dropped from contention in the 2019 elections. The Congress has also fielded Anuja S. Kedar in Savner, Nagpur district. Anuja is the wife of former minister and five-term MLA Sunil C. Kedar, who was disqualified following a conviction in a graft case. Initially, she had filed her nomination as an Independent but will now contest on a Congress ticket.
Other candidates announced in this list include Rajesh Manavatkar from Bhusawal, Swati Wakekar from Jamod, Mahesh Gange from Akot, Shekhar Shende from Wardha, Girish Pandav from Nagpur South, Pooja Thavker from Bhandara, Dalip Banson from Arjuni-Morgaon, Rajkumar Puram from Amgaon, Vasant Purke from Ralegaon, Anil Balasaheb Mangulkar from Yavatmal, Jitendra Moghe from Arni, Sahebrao Kamble from Umarkhed, Kailas Gorantyal from Jalna, Madhukar Deshmukh from Aurangabad East, Vijay Patil from Vasai, Kalu Bhadeliya from Kandivali East, Yashwant Singh from Charkop, Ganesh Kumar Yadav from Sion-Koliwada, Hemant Ogle from Srirampur, Abhay K. Salunkhe from Nilanga, and Ganpatrao Patil for Shiro.
As the deadline for filing nominations approaches on October 29, Maharashtra Congress Legislative Party Leader Vijay alias Balasaheb Thorat is set to meet with NCP supremo Sharad Pawar and Shiv Sena-UBT chief Uddhav Thackeray. The purpose of the meeting is to finalize the remaining seat-sharing arrangements, including the distribution of seats among smaller allies.
