In a significant move to enhance accessibility to educational resources, NCERT textbooks for students from Kindergarten to Class 12, as well as for UPSC aspirants, will now be sold by authorized sellers on the Amazon India platform. This partnership, announced on October 8, 2024, aims to facilitate the sale of these essential textbooks at maximum retail prices (MRP) across all serviceable pin codes in India.

Amazon India has collaborated with the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) to ensure that textbooks are readily available to students, educators, and institutions. In addition to individual sales, Amazon will also assist NCERT in managing bulk orders for government agencies and schools, streamlining the distribution process.
To support this initiative, NCERT has appointed designated distribution vendors that will work closely with sellers on Amazon to ensure timely and efficient deliveries. This strategic partnership aligns with the government's efforts to provide genuine, affordable educational resources that enhance the academic experience for millions of students across the country.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan emphasized that this collaboration marks a significant step towards removing barriers to education. He stated, “By making NCERT textbooks available through Amazon.in, we are enabling millions of students across India to pursue their education without barriers and with greater convenience.”
This development comes at a time when NCERT is also ramping up its publication efforts, planning to triple the number of textbooks printed this year to meet growing demand. This initiative reflects a broader commitment to improving educational accessibility and supporting students in their academic journeys.
