The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the reserve list for the Civil Services Examination (CSE) Mains 2023, following a request from the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT). This additional list, available on the official UPSC website (upsc.gov.in), features 120 candidates—comprising 88 from the general category, 5 from the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), 23 from Other Backward Classes (OBC), 3 from Scheduled Castes (SC), and 1 candidate recommended for various central services.
Among the candidates listed, 30 have been marked as provisional, and the DoPT is expected to reach out directly to those individuals.
The primary results for the UPSC CSE 2023 were announced on April 16, 2024, when a total of 1,016 candidates were selected for various positions, including the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), and other central posts. The reserve list ranks candidates in merit order, following the last recommended candidate from the April results across respective categories.
